General Math Links
Khan Academy: A website with how-to videos on many many math topics. Were you sick the day we learned how to multiply fractions, use the order of operations, or find the slope of a linear equation? Search for it on Khan Academy, watch the instruction video, then sign in with your gmail or facebook account and practice! Earn points and badges with correct answers and track your progress.
IXL: Practice operations at your own level (not necessarily the same as Nova Scotia's grades). Some daily practice is free, so it's best to do a little practice frequently!
Algebraic Equations Solver: This applet allows you to practice using opposite operations to solve five different levels of algebraic equations.
MIRACL: So you've converted a fraction to a decimal, but you're not entirely sure if that's a string of changing digits, or if there's a repeating pattern in there somewhere - you just can't see enough digits on your calculator screen! Now you can ask your parents/guardians to download this program (and open the .zip file) and you can calculate that decimal to up to 10 000 places! That should be enough to check for repetition ;) **Remember, Mlle Radkey cannot guarantee the quality of this software or the effect it may have on your computer, so talk to an adult at home first!**

The Universe in Powers of Ten: "What does the universe look like on small scales? On large scales? Humanity is discovering that the universe is a very different place on every proportion that has been explored. For example, so far as we know, every tiny proton is exactly the same, but every huge galaxy is different."
Scale Model of the Solar System: This page, which says it may be the largest single page on the Web, shows the distances between the planets (and one of the dwarf planets) of our Solar System, to scale. You can get an idea of where these planetary bodies really are in relation to one another.
